Cubase 11 artist upgrade9/16/2023 ![]() Yeah - that sounds right about why the Activation Manager didn't show my licenses.įrom this post on the Steinberg forums, sounds like they're just having an issue with the elicenser server getting slammed right now, and they're just asking people to be patient: I'm a little alarmed that the Activation Manager didn't show me having any licenses, although since they do correctly show up in the eLicenser Control Center, maybe that's fine. " and recommending I try again later.ĭoes that sound like it was going in the right direction except for their server maybe be slammed with traffic right now? This gives me the option of picking my Artist 11 license on my USB elicenser to upgrade (in the elicenser control center), but when I do that the progress bar runs for awhile and then gives me an error saying "A connection to the license server could not be established. I did that, and the Download Assistant is asking me if I want to upgrade now. That got me an email from Steinberg saying "You are eligible for a free Grace Period update to Cubase Artist 12" and a download access code I can enter into the Steinberg Download Assistant. I was able to use Activation Manager to correctly determine that my copy of Artist 11 is Grace Period Eligible (although alarmingly Activation Manager didn't think I had any licenses, but it did do the Grace Period Check properly). Use this access code to download the Cubase 12 update.Īccording to steinbergmedia on twitter you need to use the steinberg activation manager instead of the elicenser app: You will then have to go to the steinberg website and log into your MySteinberg account - you should receive a Download Access Code via mail also. This took me a while to figure out and was confirmed by Steinberg support staff. Open the app and click on the icon on the top right corner to find "grace period check" in the menu. It seems you may need to do an additional "Grace Period Check" within the "Steinberg Activation Manager" app. I was unable to work today due to the eLicenser server downtimes. Please make sure all your steinberg apps are closed while doing this. They will email you an activation code immediately after logging in. If you don't have it installed, go here:Īfter the Grace Period Check is successful, go to the Steinberg website and log into your MySteinberg account. If you don't, you will be unable to use your eLicenser.Īt the end of the procedure, you will get a message that your license may or may not be eligible to the free grace period upgrade.Īfter your eLicenser is updated, you need to proceed to the Steinberg Activation Manager app to perform a "Grace Period Check". Acknowledge all the error messages but let it run through. This works by downloading and installing the newest eLicenser app here:ĭue to high demand right now, the connection to the activation server seems flaky and you may have to deal with connection issues as well as the eLicenser app slowing down significantly.ĭO NOT quit the app. ![]() Microsoft Basic Display Driver is not recommended.I just updated to Cubase 12 Pro today and I am "grace period" eligible for a free update.
